Watching the last English premiership league match between Manchester United and Blackpool on Sunday 22nd May 2011, I noticed how the league table was being updated as goals were scored by the teams which were playing their last matches at different centers on that day.
I observed how some teams marked for relegation before the commencement of the matches were being substituted with another as developments that altered their positions occurred. One thing that came to my mind was that life or the destiny of individual human beings can be likened to what happened that day to the affected teams.
People’s fate or destiny changes by the second and are influenced by what happened to us, in us and around us by the tick of the clock hand. Someone considered as successful or fulfilled now can become otherwise moments later due to what happens in or around him/her. In the same vein some who have been confined to failure by the reason of their present circumstance can turn around and become the envy of others in a matter of seconds.
This is why it is necessary and imperative for us to guide our actions and utterances and take active interest in developments around us as these conditions have a way of directly or indirectly altering our destinies.
Another thing I observed from the league is that while some clubs are struggling to break records of achievements, others are struggling to be among the top ten and others are struggling to avoid relegation. No matter the level we are as individuals, others are better than us and we are surely better than others.
It is good to aspire to be at the top but if for one reason or the other you are unable to reach the very top, be contented with where you are and make good use of your present position. Remember always that some are below you wanting to take the position you are right now so hold it well.
